Custom clamshell boxes, slipcases, and portfolios protect books, prints, photographs, and other items, and can range from the simple to the elaborate. The studio is happy to work with local gallery representatives and directly with artists for editions of clamshells to house prints and publications. Custom clamshells for archival collections and first editions are also provided.
Samples include slipcases, standard clamshells, custom leather clamshells, split lid construction, and related box construction.
Artwork from the cover and text can be foil-stamped onto the covers, or leather spine labels are used when the client wishes to match other bindings on a bookshelf.
The interior of each box is constructed of archival materials specifically chosen to protect the nature of the book itself, be it a leather binding, a book with sterling silver elements, photographs, or other sensitive materials.
