She received a Master of Arts degree in Book Conservation from West Dean College, in England, and has worked with private clients, rare book and map dealers, collectors, publishers, and institutional libraries.
Stephanie Gibbs Bookbinding provides professional book-building and maintenance for all aspects of the life of a printed volume. Whether seeking a skilled historic conservation of a rare 17th century leather binding, or a custom-designed structure to hold a series of contemporary prints or photographs, every aspect of the book, from paper to structure, is evaluated and considered. Private lessons and workshops for adults and college students are available by arrangement.
Bookbinding projects range from contemporary artist's books, albums, finely bound single and presentation copies, edition binding, and scripts and theses. Professional conservation treatments are offered for historic leather and cloth-bound books, as well as manuscripts, letters, posters, and maps. Onsite consultations are available for large collections and universities.
